Thomas Stewart has impressed since his move to Derry City
Linfield's 90,000 euro compensation claim against Derry City after Thomas Stewart's move to the Brandywell last year has been dismissed by Fifa.
The Irish FA took up Linfield's claim, based on a 'Training and Compensation Rule' for players under 23 who move to other clubs after their contracts end.
The IFA requested 45,000 euro for each of the two years the Windsor Park club had 'developed' the striker.
Fifa said Derry's signing of the player was within international rules.
Derry argued that Stewart was a free agent when he joined the League of Ireland side.
Linfield believed the ruling was triggered as Stewart moved to a club in another jurisdiction.
