Lisburn Distillery manager Jimmy Brown has signed defender Philip Simpson from Glentoran in a two-year deal.

The 22-year-old was one of six Glens players placed on the transfer list by the Premiership champions last month in an attempt to cut the wage bill.

Brown hopes to further bolster his defence for next season with Dave Rogers his top target.

The former Dundee, Carlisle United and Shelbourne player was recently released by League of Ireland club Dundalk.
