Dungannon Swifts 1-2 Newry City

Newry City boosted their chances of avoiding a play-off thanks to two goals by Chris Morgan in a 2-1 victory.

The striker scored his first in the 15th minute, timing his run perfectly, collecting Lee Feeney's pass and then slipping the ball under Alvin Rouse.

Morgan made it 2-0 on 35 minutes with a neat finish, again from a Feeney pass.

Matthew Doherty pulled one back in the 46th minute with a well-struck low shot into the corner and then Timmy Adamson and Dwayne McManus could have levelled.

After Morgan's opener, Andy Coleman tipped Michael Hegarty's effort over the bar while Stephen Garrett, Feeney and Darren Cassidy had early chances for City.

Morgan fired in his second, Adamson shot wide before the interval and then Doherty hauled the home side back into the game.

Adamson then headed wide, Newry's Paul Keenan hit the sidenetting and McManus shot tamely wide.

This was Newry's first win in nine games.
