An outstanding goal from Gary Hamilton gave Glentoran a 1-0 win over Bangor at the Oval after an unconvincing display.
Darren Boyce missed an easy first-half chance for the Glens and Daryl Fordyce saw his 56th-minute penalty saved by Andrew Plummer, diving to his right.
Hamilton produced a classy finish on 56 minutes, timing his run to perfection, controlling the ball on his chest and then lifting the ball over Plummer.
Bangor exerted some pressure late on but were unable to find an equaliser.
The match was the first Irish League fixture to be played on a Sunday.
