Michael Halliday will be in action at the Oval on Sunday
Glentoran's Michael Halliday will be in action in the first ever Irish League game to be played on Sunday despite the committed Christian's misgivings.
Halliday will line out against Bangor, which was moved to Sunday because of a waterlogged pitch on Saturday.
"It was a difficult call because I'd rather not play on a Sunday," Halliday told BBC Sport.
"But as a one-off, I'm prepared to play, partly because Glentoran are my employers and I'm under contract."
Halliday acknowledged that an increasing number of Sunday fixtures could cause him difficulties in the future.
"Hopefully, it will never come to that stage where Glentoran are playing their games on a regular basis on Sundays.
"I know the reasons why this is a one-off. But I'd certainly have to consider, if it became an every Sunday thing, whether or not to play."
Glentoran manager Alan McDonald checked on Halliday's availability prior to the official decision to move the game to Sunday.
"He asked me how I was fixed," added Halliday.
"It's not that I ideally like playing on a Sunday but it doesn't interfere with church in the morning or the evening."
