Coagh beat Banbridge to stay top

Liam Beckett was named Limavady manager on Monday

Coagh United defeated Banbridge Town 2-1 at home on Tuesday night to stay top of the IFA Championship.

Liam Beckett got his reign as Limavady manager off to a winning start with a 2-1 success over Ballymoney United and Loughgall and Tobermore drew 0-0.

Armagh City were 1-0 victors over Dergview while Ballyclare Comrades and Carrick Rangers drew 2-2 in their East Antrim derby at Dixon Park.

Larne defeated Ards 1-0 in the final game of the evening.

Portadown regrouped from their shock home defeat by Ballinamallard United in midweek to beat Tobermore United 2-0 in the IFA Championship on Saturday.

However, Coagh United stay top of the table after winning 4-0 at Dergview.

Ballinamallard continued their impressive start to the season as they defeated pointless bottom club Limavady United 6-4 in a high-scoring clash.

Banbridge Town claimed a 5-2 win over Loughgall to hand the Lakeview Park outfit their first Championship defeat.

Coagh lead the table with 12 points from their opening five games - which leaves them two points ahead of Ballinamallard, who have a game in hand.

Portadown improve to third in the table - three points behind the leaders and Ronnie McFall's side also have a game in hand.

Armagh City claimed a 3-0 away win over Killymoon Rangers on Friday night.
