Derry's Mark Farren and Thomas Stewart challenge Owen Heary

Fourth-placed Derry City failed to close the gap on Eircom League favourites Bohemians at the Brandywell.

There was little incident until early in the second half when Derry full-back Stephen Bray headed just over from a Ruaidhri Higgins corner.

Midway through the second half Bohs had central defender Jason McGuinness sent-off for a second yellow card after he had clumsily challenged Mark Farren.

Bohs keeper Brian Murphy kept City at bay with several outstanding saves.
