David Jeffrey's side produced an unconvincing display at Carrick
Linfield's confidence ahead of the Champions League tie against Dinamo Zagreb took a hit when they were beaten 2-1 by Carrick Rangers on Tuesday.
Conor Downey put the Blues ahead in the 18th minute but two goals in first-half stoppage time by Robbie White earned Carrick a shock win in the friendly.
Peter Thompson hit the crossbar with a second-half penalty at Taylor's Avenue.
Linfield also hit the woodwork on a couple of other occasions but it was a unconvincing display by the Blues.
David Jeffrey's side face the Croats in the Champions League first qualifying round first leg at Windsor Park on 16 July.
