Portadown vice-chairman Bobby Jameson hopes for a reprieve
Portadown's appeal against an Irish FA decision to reject their application for a place in the new Premier League is to be heard on Monday 12 May.
Officials from the Shamrock Park club have apologised to supporters for not keeping them informed about their failure to get paperwork in on time.
The IFA ruled the application could not be considered as it had been received 14 minutes after the deadline.
The Ports, one of the league's leading clubs, are hoping for a reprieve.
"We hope that our supporters acknowledge that we cannot release any further information until the appeals process has been exhausted," said a club statement.
"We appreciate your patience and understanding at this difficult time."
The names of the 12 top flight clubs had been due to be revealed on 8 May.
