Larne and Limavady to miss out

Football

Larne and Limavady United are set to miss out on a place in the IFA's new 12-team Invitational League.

It is believed Larne did not apply for entry into the new league, which starts next season.

Limavady did apply to join up but they failed to meet the applications deadline for a Domestic Club Licence, which is an entry requirement.

Fifteen Carnegie Premier clubs have applied for the new league along with First Division side Bangor.

The applicants can also apply for a Uefa Club Licence and an IFA committee will meet on Wednesday to determine which clubs meet the domestic and Uefa licence criteria.
