Peter Hynes has received clearance from Fifa to begin his Derry City career.
Derry City signed Peter Hynes from Newry City last month
Derry signed the attacking midfielder from Newry City in February but he was unable to line out for the Brandywell outfit because of Fifa rules.
However, Derry City launched an appeal and Hynes has been granted an exemption from Fifa's regulations.
Seven other Eircom League players have been granted exemptions by Fifa but Cork City pair Colin Healy and Gareth Farrelly have lost their appeals.
Those who made successful appeals included former Glentoran and Derry City player Shaun Holmes who is now free to play for Finn Harps.
The others are John Brophy (Shelbourne), Alan Cawley (Bray Wanderers), Willie Doyle (Monaghan United), Mark Leech (Shelbourne), Ray Scully (Waterford United) and Gary Rogers (Galway United).
