Linfield's second string outfit still proved too good for Loughgall at Windsor Park.
Youngster Stephen Garrett missed a first half chance while Paul McAreavey also hit the Loughgall woodwork.
However, Garrett did notch his first senior goal in the 54th minute after Davy Larmour's shot had been blocked.
Loughgall's Johnny Topley twice tested Greg Shannon and also had an effort cleared off the line before sub Peter Thompson hit Linfield's second late on.
Topley's effort was cleared off the line by James Bell.
