Halliday gives Glens injury boost
Michael Halliday
Michael Halliday hopes to be fit for the game against Ards
Glentoran striker Michael Halliday has provided his injury-hit team with a timely boost after getting the all-clear from an x-ray on a foot.

It was feared that Halliday had broken a bone in his foot during the scoreless draw with Lisburn Distillery on Monday.

Halliday now aims to be fit for Saturday's Carnegie Premier League game against Ards.

Eight Glens players are out injured while skipper Colin Nixon is a doubt for Saturday with a groin problem.

"This is the worst injury run I have ever experienced," manager Roy Coyle told the Belfast Telegraph.

"I've been searching to try to bring in players during the transfer window."

Coyle has already lost Jody Tolan, Paul Leeman and Scott Young for the rest of the season.

He also has Pat McGibbon, Mark Glendinning, Philip Simpson, Peter McCann, and Darren Lockhart struggling to get back into action.

Glentoran lost their second-place slot to Portadown on Monday after the draw with the Whites.

It was only the Oval side's second point in the last five games.
