Mannus is possible Everton target
Linfield's Alan Mannus
Linfield's Alan Mannus has been linked with a move to Everton
Linfield's highly-rated goalkeeper Alan Mannus could be a transfer target for English Premiership club Everton.

Mannus, who has one Northern Ireland cap, is reported to have impressed coaches at the Merseyside club after being invited to attend training.

Former England keeper Chris Woods, on the Everton coaching staff, said he felt the Blues star had the ability to make it as a full-time professional.

But Mannus did not want to speculate on whether a move was likely.

The 22-year-old from Carryduff had an outstanding 2003-04 season, helping Linfield capture the Irish League championship.

He caught the eye of Northern Ireland international boss Lawrie Sanchez who called him up as a late replacement for the Carribean tour in June, brining him on as a substitute against Trinidad and Tobago.
