Alan Mathews saw his Longford side go out of the Uefa Cup
Longford Town made their Uefa Cup exit despite scoring two late goals against FC Vaduz on Thursday night.

The FAI Cup winners lost 3-2 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate to the Liechtenstein-based Vaduz in the first qualifying round.

Goals from Marius Zarn (4 mins), Franz Burgmeier (49), and Thomas Weller (55) put Vaduz in command at Flancare Park.

Former Portadown midfielder Dean Fitzgerald (86) and Barry Ferguson (88) scored for the Eircom League outfit.

Longford Town: O'Brien, Alan Murphy, Dillon, Ferguson, Kirby, Lavine, Barrett, Prunty, Paisley, Sheridan, Baker. Subs: Dempsey, Perth, Gartland, Francis, Martin, Keegan, Fitzgerald.

FC Vaduz: Silva, Michael Stocklasa, Hasler, Martin Stocklasa, Dos Santos, Perez, Burgmeier, Zarn, Telser, Gohouri, Michele Polverino. Subs: Meyer, Bismark, Rivera, Weller, Obhafuosa, D'Elia, Gerster.

Referee: Ghenadie Orlic (Moldova).
