Leeman agrees Glens deal
Glentoran captain Paul Leeman

Glentoran captain Paul Leeman has signed a new four and a half year deal with the club.

The news will be a relief to the club as Leeman would have been out of contract at the end of this week.

Linfield's moves to sign Andy Crawford (Omagh), Rodney McAree (Dungannon) and Ballymena's Oran Kearney have been frustrated.

The Blues made enquiries about all three but their approaches were turned down by the respective clubs.

Glenavon boss Tommy Kincaid has enjoyed better luck.

He's secured the services of David Hoey who was released by Newry Town earlier this week.

Donal Broughan and Robbie Brunton, who were also let go by Newry, are expected to sign for Crusaders.

Ballymena United skipper John McDowell has signed a new 12-month deal at the club.

The Braidmen have also signed former Northern Ireland U21 international Gordon Simms from Derry City.

Meanwhile, Newry Town have failed to sign Finn Harps striker Kevin McHugh.
