Blues move for new striker
Trinidad striker Jason Scotland
Jason Scotland in action for Dundee United
Linfield hope to boost their title challenge by signing Trinidad international Jason Scotland on a loan deal from Dundee United.

The Blues, leading the Irish League's Premier Division by two points, have made an approach about securing Scotland for a two-month spell.

Scotland has been with Dundee United since July 2003 and made his debut against Rangers in August.

He has played 21 times for Trinidad, scoring five goals.

Meanwhile, Linfield have announced that midfielder Phil Charnock will miss the rest of the season.

The former Liverpool and Bury midfielder may be out for up to a year, as a result of cruciate ligament damage.
