Angell deal is delayed
Former QPR striker Brett Angell
Brett Angell has yet to finalise his move to Linfield

Linfield's signing of former Queen's Park Rangers and Everton striker Brett Angell has been held up.

The Belfast club said there were a number of unresolved issues relating to Angell's contract.

Manager David Jeffrey said Linfield were looking at several ways of strengthening their panel for the new season.

"I want to reassure supporters that Linfield are actively pursuing a number of players," said Jeffrey.

"However, I will not make rash or hurried decisions as this would not be in the best interests of Linfield Football Club.

"The competitive season is over a month away and as we know a lot can happen in football in one day, one week, let alone one month.

"I am determined to bring players to Linfield, but they must be proven, quality and top drawer."
