Davies opts for England
Andrew Davies
Davies has dual qualification for Wales and England
Middlesborough defender Andrew Davies has pledged his international future to England and withdrawn from the Wales Under-20 squad to face South Korea at Ninian Park next Tuesday.

The 17-year-old, who has made two senior appearances for his club, holds dual qualification.

Davies is replaced by Millwall's Matthew Rees, whilst Arron Davies (Southampton) comes in for the injured Mark Jones (Wrexham).

Everton's Craig Garside has also been added to the squad.

Four members of the squad were forced out earlier this week because of club commitments - the game clashes with a number of re-arranged Nationwide League fixtures the same night.

Shrewsbury pair Jamie Tolley and Darren Moss will be playing against York, Swansea's Andy Mumford is needed for the trip to Bournemouth, while Port Vale's Stephen Rowland will be in the squad to face Chesterfield.

Arsenal's young rising star Adam Birchall has been ruled out for the rest of the season with foot ligament problems.

Coventry striker Lee Fowler, who scored in the FA Cup third-round replay against hometown club Cardiff last month, has joined the squad.

Manager Jimmy Shoulder has also included Bristol Rovers striker Kevin Gall and Birmingham's Richard Evans.

Goalkeeper Jason Brown will play for Gillingham against Reading on Monday night before making his way to Cardiff after the final whistle.

Wales Under-20 squad v South Korea (Cardiff, 11 Feb):

Brown (Gillingham), Whitfield (Wrexham), Price (unattached), Pejic (Wrexham), Collins (Cardiff), Rowland (Port Vale), R Edwards (Aston Villa), Matthew Rees (Millwall), M Williams (Man Utd), Arron Davies (Southampton), R Evans (Birmingham), Brough (Notts Co), Vaughan (Crewe), Kevin Gall (Bristol Rovers), G Williams (Palace), Craig Garside (Everton).
