62 mins: Heidar Helguson leaps above the Scotland defence but his header goes over the crossbar.

57 mins: Played in by Eidur Gudjohnsen, Bjarni Porsteinsson hesitates before his shot from 10 yards is blocked by Steven Pressley.

51 mins: Vidarsson curls a low cross in from the left which just evades the touch of Iceland's strikers in the Scotland penalty area.

50 mins: A long shot by Ivar Ingimarsson is comfortably held by Douglas in the Scotland goal.

47 mins: Crawford goes clean through on the Iceland goal after a header from Steven Thompson, but the striker pushes his shot wide.

46 mins: Helgi Sigurdsson is replaced at half time by Watford's Heidar Helguson.

First half

43 mins: After some ragged Iceland defending, Thompson grabs possession of the ball in the penalty area and is brought down - but referee Alain Sars does not award a spot-kick.

32 mins: Barry Ferguson curls a free-kick over the crossbar from an excellent position on the right side of the Iceland penalty area.

30 mins: Christian Dailly produces another goalbound header which is tipped over by Arni Gautur Arason.

22 mins: Young Scotland defender Ross receives a yellow card for refusing to retreat promptly for an Iceland free-kick.

20 mins: Again, a chance falls to Gudjohnsen, but from 15 yards out and with plenty of space, he slices his shot high and wide.

18 mins: Gudjohnsen, on the left edge of the Scotland penalty area, tricks his way through the visitors' defence before smashing a shot which beats Douglas but hits the crossbar.

16 mins: From another Scotland corner, Pressley, 10 yards out and unmarked, loops his header over the crossbar.

12 mins: Gudjohnsen drives in a free-kick which just eludes an unmarked Hermann Hreidarsson at the far post.
