Linfield substitute goalkeeper Alan Mannus was the hero for Northern Ireland under-23s in a tough draw.

Senior manager Lawrie Sanchez was at Glenavon's Mourneview Park to see the home side take on a Serbia squad preparing for the European Finals.

Mannus made two superb saves from Milos Maric and Branislay Ivanovic after coming on in the second half.

Lee McEvilly went close for Northern Ireland early on but the hosts did well to hold out for a draw.

Coach Roy Millar said: "Alan has had a very good season and deserved a half. He has done well for me tonight and deserves a lot of credit.

"I'm delighted with the performance. Serbia are a very strong side and technically gifted but we got in among them and you had to admire our work rate."
