Boaz Myhill has yet to start a competitive match for Wales
Boaz Myhill aims to give John Toshack a goalkeeping selection dilemma when he makes his first competitive start in Wales' qualifier in Liechtenstein.
The Hull City stopper has five friendly caps but will get an unexpected World Cup qualifying chance in Vaduz because of Wayne Hennessey's suspension.
"I'm realistic as Wayne has established himself and done very," said Myhill.
"We're building for the next campaign so I'll give the manager something to think about and take it from there."
Wales will finish fourth in Group Four regardless of the result in their final 2010 World Cup qualifier because Toshack's team were beaten 2-1 by Finland on Saturday.
"I have had to be patient, Wayne's performances have been good," said Californian-born Myhill, whose mother is Welsh.
"Suspensions happen, all I can do is to play well and take my chance.
"The group has not gone the way we would have liked, but we aim to end it on a good note.
"I have not had the games I would have liked, but that is because of the form Wayne has shown.
"I feel we have done better in this group than it looks.
"Against the bigger countries we have played well and just been a touch unlucky at times.
"That is encouraging, and it can only help the younger players.

"We know now how hard it is, but we know there will be no wholesale changes and that the group will be very similar for a few years now.
"Exposure at this level at such a young age can only help the younger lads, me too.
"This is the great strength we have. In four or eight years' time, these lads will still be around and much better for it."
Myhill has been encouraged by his club form, adding: "It has been a somewhat difficult start for us at Hull, but we did well to beat Wigan in our last match and we hope now that things are on the up.
"Our early fixtures have been difficult, and running into Fernando Torres in top form didn't help.
"But now we are in a spell where we feel we can pick up points.
"We are a better side and club than we were a year or so ago. Just going into work in the morning you can notice all manner of changes.
"That comes with staying in the Premier League. Your budget and income improves, and that can only benefit the club, the longer we can stay in the top flight the more Hull will improve.
"The manager will have more money to strengthen with, we are having a new training ground built and being in the Premier League helps you constantly improve because of the income."
Liechtenstein, who lost 2-0 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff a year ago, are currently bottom of group four without a win in their nine qualifiers, drawing just twice.
But they could lift themselves off the bottom if they win and fifth-place Azerbaijan lose at home to Russia.
