Pearce saw his side lose a two-goal lead at La Rosaleda in Malaga

England Under-21s slipped to defeat against an experienced Ecuador side in Malaga after surrendering a 2-0 lead.

Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson put Stuart Pearce's side ahead with a stunning volley, before Spurs striker Fraizer Campbell coolly slotted in.

But Ecuador hit back when Joffre Guerron smashed a shot past Tom Heaton and they levelled matters as Pablo Palacios ran through and rolled home.

Man City's Felipe Caicedo won it late on by rifling in at the near post.
