Masson's Peruvian penalty pain
Scotland 1-3 Peru
Archie Gemmill's wonder goal against Holland aside, there are very few happy memories of Scotland's trip to Argentina for the 1978 World Cup finals.
One particularly grim moment came in the match against Peru.
Joe Jordan put the Scots ahead after 14 minutes and it was looking good for Ally MacLeod and his team.
When Cueto equalised for the South Americans just before half-time, all was not lost. There was still another 45 minutes to sweep these football "minnows" aside.
On the hour mark a foul on Bruce Rioch in the box gave Scotland a penalty.
Don Masson had scored the penalty against Wales in the qualifiers that helped clinched qualification for the finals. He would slot it away, wouldn't he?
As a nation held its breath, Quiroga made a comfortable save to his right, inspiring stylish Peru to go on and win the match in convincing fashion.
