Lampard's passing against Croatia

Results on their own can only point out so much. Further research from England's recent victories against Croatia (4-1 away), Russia (3-0 at home) and Estonia (3-0 away) gives some clearer indications.

With Gerrard out injured, Lampard played alongside Barry in the 4-1 win over Croatia in Zagreb.

As can be seen on the left, Lampard made 55 passes overall with seven unsuccessful. But what is notable is that many of them were sideways to England full-backs Ashley Cole and Wes Brown, and they are concentrated in the middle third of the pitch.
