Kennedy injured as Burley watches

John Kennedy has suffered ankle ligament damage whilst being watched by the Scotland manager George Burley.

Kennedy was playing for Norwich City against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night.

The defender previously had a lengthy recovery from a serious knee injury he received whilst playing for Scotland.

His performances during his loan spell from Celtic have attracted the attentions of the national manager.

Celtic captain Stephen McManus is suspended for the next world cup qualifier against Norway after being sent off in the win over Iceland.

Burley was casting an eye over Kennedy with a view to him being a possible replacement for the match at Hampden Park on 11 October.

The 25-year-old has been on loan at Carrow Road since July.
