Scotland U21 Billy Stark coach hailed the impact of striker Steven Fletcher following the 3-1 win over Slovenia.

The Hibernian forward scored twice as the Scots went top of their Euro 2009 qualifying group

"Steven made a massive contribution for us," said Stark. "We were pretty confident that he would do that so we move on to the last game now.

"I thought we'd have to keep probing to get the breakthrough goal, so to get it early was a big lift for everybody."

Stark does not know whether he will have Fletcher available for the final qualifying match against Denmark.

The 21-year-old could earn himself a call-up to the senior squad for the World Cup qualifying matches against Macedonia and Iceland.

"I don't know Steven's position for Denmark now, even though I know there has been speculation about it," added Stark.

"The international full squad is way above anything else in terms of importance.

"If Fletch has done enough to get himself back in the squad, then we're delighted.

"We have players that have been able to step in."
