Fletcher added to Scots U21 squad

Scotland U21 coach Billy Stark has included Steven Fletcher and Ross McCormack in his squad for the games against Slovenia and Denmark.

Both strikers have one senior cap but were left out of George Burley's squad for the opening World Cup qualifiers.

Instead, Hibernian's Fletcher and Cardiff City's McCormack will try to boost Scotland's chances of reaching the U21 Euro 2009 finals.

The Scots are joint-second with Denmark in Group 6, two points behind Finland.

Fletcher made his full Scotland debut in the 1-1 draw with Croatia at Hampden in March and McCormack won his first cap in the May defeat by the Czech Republic in Prague.

Stark is without Rangers striker Steven Naismith, who is recovering from long-term injury but Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth returns to the squad.

There are also places for Motherwell defender Mark Reynolds, Celtic full-back Paul Caddis, Dundee United midfielder David Robertson and Hibs pair Lewis Stevenson and Ross Campbell.
