Beckham joins century club
David Beckham holds off Nicolas Anelka during England's friendly against France
England coach Fabio Capello left David Beckham out of his first squad to face Switzerland in February, leaving him on 99 caps.

But the 32-year-old Los Angeles Galaxy star was recalled for Wednesday's friendly with France.

England's four centurions were all handed the captaincy for their 100th cap even if, like Charlton and Shilton, they were not usually in possession of the armband.

Capello named Rio Ferdinand as his skipper for the France game in Paris but Beckham started the 1-0 defeat at the Stade de France to become the latest member of England's century club.
