England arrange Germany friendly

Michael Owen celebrates scoring a goal against Germany

England will play Germany in a friendly match in Berlin on 19 November.

Fabio Capello's side will travel to the Olympic Stadium, the venue for the 2006 World Cup final, for the game.

"I'm delighted this fixture has been arranged, it should be a real challenge and something the players will look forward to," the England coach said.

England's last match against German hosts was the famous 5-1 victory in a World Cup qualifier in Munich in 2001, with Michael Owen scoring a hat-trick.

However Germany have since avenged the defeat with a 2-1 win over England in August last year.

Capello is set to take charge of his first England game against Switzerland on 6 February.

The Italian will also have a friendly against France in Paris to prepare for on 26 March.

And England could also line up a match against Scotland at Wembley sometime during the summer.
