Northern Ireland are top of Group Nine in the European Under-21 qualifiers after their biggest win in six years.

They were 3-0 up against Luxembourg after seven minutes at Mourneview Park.

David Buchanan opened the scoring in the second minute, Andrew Waterworth fired in number two and Michael O'Connor added a third.

Jamie Ward made it 4-0 after 27 minutes with a shot from an acute angle and Chris Turner got in on the act after 56 minutes with a fine individual goal.

The result puts Northern Ireland in good heart for the next qualifier against Moldova at the same venue on Tuesday.
