English-born Chris Armstrong, Steve Howard and James Morrison have been given call-ups to Scotland's B squad to face Republic of Ireland this month.
James Morrison was born in Darlington
Sheffield United defender Armstrong was born in Newcastle.
Durham-born Derby County forward Howard has previously expressed an interest in playing for Scotland.
And Darlington-born West Brom winger Morrison had been due to make his debut in a friendly against South Africa before pulling out through injury.
Morrison had previously represented England at youth level, while Armstrong was said to have been considered for a full call-up by the land of his birth.
Charlton Athletic's Coatbridge-born striker, Chris Iwelumo, has at last been given recognition after making several appeals for a chance at international level.
Five Rangers players are also in the squad for the 20 November fixture at Airdrie United's Excelsior Stadium.
Kirk Broadfoot, Charlie Adam, Steven Whittaker, Kevin Thomson and Steven Naismith are included along with Celtic defender John Kennedy.
But there was no place for Dundee United's Lee Wilkie.
Wilkie, who has nine full caps, had been tipped for a call-up, but club manager Craig Levein had suggested it was still too early after the defender's return from a series of serious injuries.
However, his United centre-half partner, Darren Dods, is given a chance to prove himself at international level late in his career.
Hearts pair Michael Stewart and Christophe Berra have been rewarded for their fine recent form, while Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher is given the chance to step up from Under-21 level.
Former Celtic winger Ross Wallace has also been rewarded for his acclaimed displays for Sunderland this season.
The Scotland B team last played a challenge match against Finland at Rugby Park in January, when they recorded a 2-2 draw.
