Brian Flynn's side will face tougher tests next month
Wales Under-21s strolled to their first win of the Uefa Championship qualifying campaign with by outclassing Malta at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground.

Wrexham defender Mike Williams opened the scoring 16 minutes when his low shot on the turn found the corner.

Reading winger Simon Church doubled the lead just before half-time with a header from Aaron Ramsey's cross.

Bournemouth striker Sam Vokes sealed the win with another header before Ian Zammit hit a late stunner for Malta.

Wales, who lost 1-0 to leaders France is their opening Group 10 match, move up to third alongside Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Brian Flynn's youngsters have games in hand over all their group rivals, and can look forward to home games against France and Bosnia-Herzegovina next month.
