Qatar will stage next Asian Cup
The Asian Football Confederation has unveiled Qatar as the venue for the next Asian Cup in 2011.

But holding it in January to avoid the July heat could raise issues of availability of European-based players.

Qatar was the only realistic choice after southern Asian bids faltered, and alternation rules precluded Australia.

Asian Football Confederation president Mohammed Bin Hammam said: "There's a Fifa window in January, and all our players will be released."
