BBC pundits on England v Brazil
The BBC's team of expert analysts from Match of the Day and Five Live give their verdict on England's 1-1 draw against Brazil.

I thought England were organised and committed - a marked improvement on the way they played in the previous three or four games.

They can take a lot out of the game going into the qualifier against Estonia.

I think it's the confidence factor which is the important thing, because it has been at rock bottom lately. For the first time in a while, the press will not give them a negative write-up.

As regards the match itself, I think David Beckham was great. We know what David can do and he delivered against Brazil.

The ball in for John Terry's goal was superb - it was right in that slot where it's difficult for the keeper to deal with.

If England play close to that level against Estonia then I can't see anything but a win.

There were a lot more positives than negatives to take out of the game.

It's all good and well saying England should have opened up more, but they were playing a Brazil side with world-class players. If England were more adventurous going forward then they would have been cut up at the other end.

I think Nicky Shorey did decent job at left-back and Paul Robinson made a good save from Ronaldinho's shot.

I think England owed a lot to their midfield for the result. The balance did not work at the World Cup but I think it did against Brazil. Frank Lampard did not have the best of games but Steven Gerrard was superb in that holding role.

David Beckham was also great. The way he picked out Terry was brilliant. It's amazing that Terry has not scored more for Chelsea when you take into account his ability to attack the ball from crosses.

In the case of my old team-mate Michael Owen, I don't think we've seen the best of him yet. At times he was sharp and his best chance came from a header.

I think England deserved the win, but Brazil were not at their best.

Ronaldinho, Kaka and Robinho were all below par - they never got into the game.

England were aggressive in defence but they looked light in attack. They did manage a goal although I was disappointed that 6ft 5ins Naldo lost out to Terry in the air.

Our goalscorer Diego scored a good header himself. He did not have the greatest time with Porto after his transfer from Santos. But has had a good season with Werder Bremen.

Brazil are going into the Copa America with something missing from the team make-up. It is true that they they need to find new faces, and they tried a few against England, but I'm not overly optimistic.
