Alex McLeish was pleased after Scotland defeated Austria in Vienna, with Garry O'Connor scoring the only goal.
McLeish hopes the win will boost confidence for the Euro 2008 qualifiers
"We created a lot of chances tonight, and I'm very pleased with the overall display," said the Scotland manager.
"Garry O'Connor and Kris Boyd led the line well, but it was an excellent all-round display from us.
"Hopefully things are now falling into place - we'll take the power of this performance with us when we travel to the Faroe Islands next week."
McLeish paid tribute to Lokomotiv Moscow striker O'Connor, who he recalled to the national side following a seven-month absence.
"Tonight was great for Garry. It's fallen in his lap and he's taken full advantage. Good for him," he added.
The friendly victory against the co-hosts of Euro 2008 sets the Scots up well for the vital qualifier in Toftir, which is a must-win game for McLeish.
"The Faroes won't make things easy for us," he cautioned.
"There is no way they'll take things lying down, as they've made life very difficult for a number of teams at home in the last few years.
"Hopefully, we'll show what were capable of when we go up there."
Meanwhile, goalscorer O'Connor revealed his delight at making his mark for Scotland.
"I'm absolutely delighted - I've been given a second chance by Alex and that's payback," said the former Hibernian man.
"It's just great to be back on the international scene and doing well.
"I've been playing really positively and I feel confident - I'm sharp and ready and looking forward to the future."
