Mexico have named Hugo Sanchez as their new national team coach.
Sanchez scored 47 goals for Mexico
Widely considered Mexico's best-ever
player, Sanchez, 48, won five consecutive league titles with Real Madrid in the 1980s.
He coached Pumas UNAM from 2000-2005,
winning the Mexican league title twice in a row, before taking over as Necaxa caoch in September.
Sanchez replaces Ricardo La Volpe, now manager at Argentina's Boca Juniors, who had been Mexico's coach since 2002.
