Wigan midfielder Jimmy Bullard has put himself forward for a shock World Cup call up by Germany.
Bullard did not play a first-team game in two years at West Ham
Bullard, 27, has a German grandmother and has told national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann he is available.
He told The People: "The paperwork has been sorted and if Jurgen rang I'd definitely be interested.
"I used to play with England midfielder Frank Lampard at West Ham and the chance to face him in the World Cup would be too good to turn down."
Bullard has impressed during Wigan's first season in the Premiership and says he is happy to stay at the JJB Stadium.
He added: "I signed a three-year contract in the summer and I am enjoying every minute of it."
