Kyle Lafferty is making an impact at Burnley
|
Burnley striker Kyle Lafferty has been named in a 17-man Northern Ireland squad to face Finland in a friendly in Helsinki on Wednesday.
The teenager was part of the panel which travelled to face Romania and Uruguay in the United States.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Sammy Clingan, who impressed on the tour, is also included but Steve Davis is ruled out because of a thigh strain.
Damien Johnson is left out as he misses the first two Euro 2008 qualifiers.
Johnson must serve a two-game ban after being dismissed against Austria in the World Cup qualifying series.
Warren Feeney returns to the squad and Cheltenham's Grant McCann is included while David Healy will join up with the squad if he comes through Leeds' Championship match with Crystal Palace unscathed.
Colin Murdock and Dean Shiels are not in Lawrie Sanchez's travelling panel but Hibs striker Shiels is chosen for the Under-21 squad to face Romania in a Euro 2007 qualifying game on Tuesday.
Sheffield Wednesday winger Chris Brunt, a regular member of Sanchez's senior squad, is relegated to the U21s this time.
