Dwight Yorke celebrates putting Trinidad ahead at Loftus Road
|
Trinidad & Tobago captain Dwight Yorke struck twice as they stepped up their preparations for the World Cup with an impressive 2-0 win over Iceland.
Trinidad - in England's group for the tournament in Germany - took an early lead when Yorke slammed home a volley after Iceland failed to clear a cross.
He doubled the lead with an audacious chip from a second half penalty after Ivar Ingimarsson had fouled Stern John.
Eidur Gudjohnsen went close for Iceland with a free-kick that drifted wide.
