England have recorded a Kieran Richardson-inspired 2-1 victory over the USA in Chicago.
Richardson scored both his country's goals, a fourth-minute free-kick and a right-foot shot from outside the box, before going off with an injury.
The USA pulled a deserved goal back with just over 10 minutes to go through Clint Dempsey's header.
England impressed with an experimental side - as Richardson, Zat Knight and Luke Young all made debuts.
Goalflashes and major incidents as they happen (all times BST):
2157: It's all over in Chicago. England have won 2-1 and it's a dream debut for Kieran Richardson, who scored both his country's goals. His debut was spoiled only by a hamstring injury, but was otherwise a perfect bow he will never forget.
2148: England are hanging on here with around eight minutes left. Glen Johnson, who has not had the easiest time, does not clear and Zat Knight has to nip in and snuff out the danger.
2144: GOAL. USA 1-2 England.
The US grab a lifeline as Landon Donovan's free-kick is met by Carlos Bocanegra, whose effort is saved by David James. The ball flies to Clint Dempsey, who heads home his first senior international goal.

2132: Glen Johnson appears to handle inside the penalty area but it is not intentional and play goes on.
2126: Jermain Defoe comes on for Ashley Cole, with Phil Neville filling in at left-back.

2050: GOAL. USA 0-2 England
Kieran Richardson is proving the adage of America being the land of opportunities. He has now scored twice on his debut, with the second strike coming after Joe Cole, receiving Andy Johnson's flick, finds his fellow midfielder on the edge of the box.
2048: A flare-up as Glen Johnson and Cory Gibbs exchange views in no uncertain terms. Neither player is booked.
2042: Another near-miss by the US as Josh Wolff presents a nice cushioned header for Landon Donovan who lashes past the post when he might have done better.
2040: Ashley Cole gets the game's first booking for kicking the ball away.

2023: Confirmation arrives that Richardson has not scored England's quickest post-war debut goal. That honour stays with the late Bill Nicolson, who netted after 54 seconds of his bow against Portugal in 1951.
