Real Madrid striker Ronaldo was also called up after recovering from injury.
World Cup winners Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Roque Junior, Edmilson, Lucio, Kaka, Kleberson, Ronaldinho, Junior, Belletti, Dida and Marcos are included.
There is no place for Rivaldo, who has not played a club game since he quit Brazilian side Cruzeiro in February.
Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has replaced Santos midfielder Renato with Manchester United midfielder Kleberson, and recalled Benfica full-back Luizao.
The last time the two teams met, in the Confederations Cup tournament in 2001, France won 2-1.
Parreira said: "We might not have another game as important this season. France have exceptional players."
Brazil, who beat Hungary 4-1 in a friendly last week, will play World Cup qualifiers against Argentina on 2 June and Chile on 6 June.
The World Cup holders are third in the South American qualifying group, behind Argentina and Paraguay.
The top four teams qualify for the 2006 finals in Germany.
