Giggs makes Wales return
Ryan Giggs returns for Wales after a two-match suspension
Ryan Giggs returns to the Wales squad after suspension for the World Cup qualifiers against England and Poland.

The Manchester United wing missed the draws against Azerbaijan and Northern Ireland for a ban picked up in the Euro 2004 play-off loss to Russia.

Wales face England at Old Trafford - Giggs' home club ground - on 9 October, then Poland in Cardiff on 13 October.

Giggs is joined in the squad by Rhys Weston of Cardiff but Nathan Blake and the injured Rob Edwards miss out.

Leicester City striker Blake has retired from international football, while Wolves defender Edwards is recovering from an ankle operation.

Wales boss Mark Hughes is overseeing his last two matches in charge before stepping down to manage Blackburn full-time.

Robbie Savage is in the squad for the Group Six matches, although he will be serving a one-match ban for the England encounter.

The Birmingham midfielder was sent off after clashing with Northern Ireland's Michael Hughes, but he is taking his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in a desperate attempt to be cleared to face England.

Regardless of the result of the appeal, Savage will be free to return for the Millennium Stadium clash with the Poles.

Said Hughes: "There are issues leading up to the game involving players but it would take an awful lot to overshadow the actual game as a spectacle.

"It's a huge game, everybody's looking forward to it. We're looking for a positive result after the first two games haven't gone for us as we hoped. So we need to take something out of both games."
