Socceroos doubts over Reading
Reading's Madejski Stadium
The Madejski Stadium has hosted England Under-21 internationals
The prospect of Reading hosting two Australia friendlies at the Madejski Stadium is in doubt.

Australia have matches arranged against Argentina and Cameroon lined up and Reading seemed favourites to stage the games.

But Soccer Australia chief executive Stefan Kamasz says problems have arisen.

And the next 48 hours have been set as the deadline to tie up the loose ends if the international against Argentina is to go ahead.

"We're talking to them but we've got huge logistical problems and the odds are less than 50% that it can take place," said Kamasz.

"And we have yet to secure an underwriter for the match so time is against us."

The Socceroos have been forced to cancel games against Portugal and Serbia and Montenegro in the past and they could be forced to ditch another game if they cannot resolve the relevant issues.

Kamasz added: "Reading is not locked in and we won't be making an announcement until the Soccer Australia board makes a decision."
