Ronaldinho admits fluke
Ronaldinho got lucky
Ronaldinho has admitted that his wonder free-kick that eliminated England from the World Cup was unintended.

The Brazil striker lobbed David Seaman from 35 yards to book his country's place in the semi-finals of the 2002 tournament.

But he told international colleague Juninho that he had been trying to put the ball in the opposite corner.

"Ronaldinho said he tried to put the ball in the opposite angle to where it went," Juninho told The Independent newspaper.

"He mishit it. In the end it was lucky. In football you have to be lucky sometimes."

Ronaldinho's second-half strike put Brazil ahead 2-1 in Shizuoka after England had taken an early lead.

Although the Brazilian was later sent off, he returned to the Brazil team to help them win the World Cup by beating Germany in the final.
