1341 BST: Barcelona's pursuit of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is showing no sign of slowing up, with Barca midfielder Xavi the latest to try to tempt him to the Nou Camp.

"I would love him to come," he told Barca TV. "I have already told him so.

"He's a footballer made up of Barca DNA. I don't have any doubt that Cesc would triumph at Barca."


Manchester City are prepared to make Liverpool striker Fernando Torres the world's richest footballer by offering him £200,000-a-week to join them. But the Spaniard is set to reject the move and join Chelsea in a £50m transfer. (Sunday Express)

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to listen to offers for striker Dimitar Berbatov, with Juventus and AC Milan thought to be prepared to pay £18m for the Bulgarian.
