Manchester City have sent a high-powered delegate to Italy to try to secure a stunning world-record deal for AC Milan's Kaka. It is understood City are prepared to wait until the summer to land the Brazilian if they can persuade the Serie A club to part with him - but they want to do business now. (Daily Express)


City are expected to agree a deal to sign Craig Bellamy for about 12m this week after preparing an improved bid for the Wales striker. (The Times)

Chelsea can expect a frosty reception during their FA Cup third-round replay with Southend.

Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson said: "I don't go in the away dressing room much. But unless the heater has been fixed since the last game, there's no doubt it will be cold in there.

"The away dressing room at Chelsea was very nice. It had carpet. Ours has a concrete floor and even that's chipped.
