Port Vale's cult heroes

This vote is now closed.

Neil Aspin has been voted Port Vale's all-time cult hero by Football Focus fans.

Aspin won with 57% of the vote ahead of fellow Vale favourites Gareth Ainsworth and Robbie Earle.

Fantastic attacking winger who would go straight through an opposing full back like a brick wall if he got in his way.
Kevin Fitzgerald

He was so exciting to watch he managed to excite the crowd. And probably one of the best wing players ever seen at the Vale - scored a few goals too.
Sarah Keates

Played for us until he could barely walk, the man never gave less than his all, often in pretty dire circumstances. My favourite Aspo moment was during a cup tie against Derby, who brought on Kevin Francis - Aspo insisted on marking him, despite the ridiculous height difference.
Mike Rogers

100% committed 100% of the time. Any (legal) part of the body would be used to stop the opposition scoring. My Hero.
Adam Gadsden

A Vale legend. A solid defender who would run through brick walls without flinching. Known as "God" to many of us. Was at the club for 10 years and racked up 3 goals, each celebrated as though they had won the World Cup.
Shaun Higgs

Solid in the Vale backline for many years.
Robert Cooper

Simply the best football player The Vale have ever had.
Shaun Higgs

Great goalscoring midfielder for us and then Wimbledon. Very much of the 'lead by example' variety, never shirking a tackle and only too keen to lead the attacks as well.
