Queen's Park's cult heroes

This vote is now closed.

Brian McPhee has been voted Queen's Park's all-time cult hero by Football Focus viewers.

McPhee won with 100% of the votes, ahead of fellow Queen's Park legends Peter McNamee and Mickey Hendry.

Always having running battles with the manager. One great season when he banged in 17 league goals before Christmas to put us second. Used to always do somersaults after scoring. Unfortunately after Christmas he had a big fall-out with the boss over his goal celebrations with the supporters and ended up dropped a lot of times. Only scored one goal in the second half of the season - we blew promotion. We used to sing a song about him to the tune of the "Mickey Mouse club" song: "Who's the man who swings his pants scoring for QP? M-I-C-K-E-Y-H-E-N-D-REEEEE. Mickey Hendreeee, Mickey Hendreee. He's the man who swings his pants and he scores for the QP!"

Nickname "The Pigeon", simply because he ran like one. Chest puffed out and head going back and forth. We used to sing the famous song from the cartoon "Stop the Pigeon, Stop the Pigeon, doo doo dooo dooo dooo dooo etc". Last seen by QP fans in Bordeaux in a very drunken state at the 98 World Cup.

First modern-era black player at the club. Offered a trial at the age of 25 when discovered by a director who drank in the pub he worked in. Next week he was straight in the first team and banged in a double. Once scored 4 goals in a 5-5 draw at East Fife, each one a belter. Was usually used as a super-sub. Ended up at Livingston and is still playing, currently at Hamilton Accies. We used to sing a song about him as well "OOO EEEE BRIAN MCPHEE, I SAID OOO EEE BRIAN MCPHEE".
