Former Card Clive Walker talks up Woking Cup prospects

Former Brighton and Woking winger Clive Walker says there could be an upset when the two sides meet in their FA Cup first round replay.

Blue Square Bet South side Woking welcome League One Albion to Kingfield on Tuesday.

Walker told BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey: "We got used to good cup runs during my time at Woking.

"They know it will be tough but they will look back on history. It's been done before and it can be done again."

He added: "Woking would have been more than happy to get something from Withdean Stadium.

"From Woking history and my time at the club in Cup competition - you never know."

Walker spent three years with Brighton, and played in the FA Cup tie between the two sides in 1992, which the Seagulls won 2-1 after a replay.

He then joined the Cards in 1993, and went on to make more than 200 appearances during a four-year spell at Kingfield.

And the 53-year-old said it would be nice to see the Kingfield terraces full again.

"Hopefully there will be a full house there. It's gone through some bad times in recent years and crowds have dropped off," he said.

"I'm sure Gus Poyet will put some of his first team players back in as the tie is important for him."
